Description

** SPRINGTIME SALE, JUST DISCOUNTED!! ** With their broad fenders, running boards and "step" style beds with their wooden inserts, the pickup trucks of the '40s and '50s despite being work horses certainly have plenty of style. These pickups also make cool old-school hot rods, with considerably more "pick up" than they had back in the day along with a great soundtrack playing out of their dual exhausts. Here we have a gorgeous 1953 Ford F-100 that has undergone a meticulous, no-expense-spared nut-and-bolt restoration. With only 1,800 miles since completion, the restoration on this all-original sheet metal truck features a two-tone cream white and black refinish done in the style of a period-correct Harley-Davidson dealership. The various chrome and stainless-steel trim looks showroom fresh, the bed floor sports gorgeous oak planks and stainless-steel strips and the F-100's underside is so clean we'd gladly eat our Sunday pasta off of it. A set of Ford chrome reverse wheels fitted with B.F. Goodrich Silvertown radials complete the truck's massive curb appeal. Inside is a mix of mostly old with a little new. The F-100 retains its original style doors, dash and even a period correct steering wheel, which proudly proclaims Ford's 50th anniversary (1903-1953). The modern, 60/40 split bench seat features plush cloth trim, a fold-down center armrest and power adjustment for the driver's side. Originally fitted with a 239 cubic-inch, 130-horsepower V8, the F-100 was given the "back in the day" hot rod treatment. It now boasts a beefed-up 1953 Mercury Flathead V8 with an Isky performance cam as well as Smitty dual exhausts. We'd guesstimate that it makes around 30 to 40 horsepower more than it came with, and it sends the power to the rear wheels via a column-shifted 3 speed with overdrive manual transmission. Of course the suspension and brakes were completely refurbished as well, and out on the road the F-100 drives as nice as it looks. With a curb weight of only around 3,000 pounds, it's a spirited cruiser that sounds the part of a proper '50s-style hot rod thanks to that cam and those Smitty mufflers. Ready to please its next owner with its entertaining personality, head-turning looks and incredible restoration quality, this classic pickup has it all. Please call Carroll Street Auto at (603) 627-5595 for further information or to schedule time to view this fantastic Ford F-100. Financing is offered through our approved lender, trades are welcome and enclosed shipping can be arranged.
