More chrome accents outside (along with a more formal roofline for coupes) and a plush interior made it plain this was the top of the line. Here we have a 1967 Caprice coupe that’s been pampered from day one by the same family. Bought new from Dobles Chevrolet in Manchester, NH, the car was ordered with a 283 2-barrel V8, Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering, tinted glass, factory undercoating, vinyl top, bumper guards, the very rare bucket seats with center console and an AM radio. Although we can’t make the claim for certain, the odometer reading of 23,742 miles looks believable, given the car’s amazing condition. The body on this car is incredible and appears to have all its original sheetmetal intact. The Caprice has had one high-quality respray in its correct Madeira Maroon hue and it sparkles, as does the chrome and stainless steel trim. The original wheel covers along with Hancook radial whitewalls complete the massive curb appeal. The original interior is likewise in amazing condition with the woodtone accented door panels, dash and console as well as the plush, button-tufted upholstery style befitting the Caprice’s luxury car status. The steering wheel and dash top are crack-free. Look above and below and both the headliner and carpet are similarly testament to the great care the car has received since it rolled out of the showroom over 50 years ago. Under the hood, the original 283 V8 sends its ample power through the Powerglide automatic. Underway, the car is a joy to drive, and having been through our shop this fully-sorted cruiser is ready to take on a road trip.
