1967 Chevrolet Corvette

We get a lot of second-generation (1963-1967), the so-called “mid-year” Corvettes here at Carroll Street. We love these cars and so do many of our customers. For many enthusiasts, the 1967 is the top pick thanks to it being the most refined of that generation and having several “one-year-only” features such as the multi-louvered front fenders, the center-mounted back-up light and the console-mounted parking/hand brake. Arguably (or not) the ultimate is a ’67 with the Tri-Power 427 V8 rated at 435 horses, hooked up to a 4-speed stick. We have just such a car here in this gorgeous 1967 427/435 roadster and this big block bruiser has it all -- looks, personality and condition. This car was owned by one family for 35 years, has been very well cared for and has had just one high-quality respray in the original Marlboro Maroon with the Black hood stinger. The 52,747 miles showing on the odometer are believed accurate, though we can’t confirm that. That said, judging by the car’s overall mostly original condition and the fantastic way it runs and drives, we could see that being the Corvette’s actual mileage. With its nice even panel gaps, brilliant paint finish, nice chrome trim, optional side-mounted exhaust and “Bolt On” aluminum wheels fitted with BF Goodrich Silvertown Radial redlines, this classic Corvette is an eye magnet. Underneath, the car is rock-solid, lending further testament to its very pampered ownership history. Inside, the black upholstery, dash, door panels and carpet all present extremely well. The gauges are sharp while other option highlights include Positraction rear end, F41 suspension, tinted glass, headrests and AM/FM radio. Note that this is a two-top car, as it comes with the color-matched hard top as well as a recently replaced black soft top. Under the hood is that muscle-bound 427 Tri-Power V8. It has a replacement block, original stamping and is backed by the numbers-matching M21 4-speed transmission and Positraction rear end. The engine compartment is so clean you’ll gladly raise the hood to show it off at your Cars and Coffee events. As we have gone over the car from front to back in our shop (including replacing the clutch), that well-sorted powertrain starts, runs and shifts fantastic. There’s nothing quite like the roar of a 427 inhaling through trips and exhaling through factory side pipes while you run up through the gears of the 4-speed.
