Description

** SPRINGTIME SALE, JUST DISCOUNTED!! ** For many classic Mustang enthusiasts, the '67-'68 is the one to have. A more muscular version of the original with its beefier hind quarters and larger grille, these Mustangs also boasted more potent engine options and a greater array of luxury options. Here we have a 1967 Mustang convertible that is an 48,797-mile, incredibly original and pampered example that must be seen. Only driven in good weather and garaged since it rolled out of the showroom back when The Door's "Light My Fire" was burning up the charts, this Mustang boasts an impressively solid body and underside. The woman who we bought the car from had quite the story. She attended the 1964 New York World's Fair as a little girl, where the "new" Ford Mustang was first unveiled to the public. Her greatest wish was to just sit in this sporty new car. Sadly, it didn't work out, perhaps due to the massive crowds waiting to do the same. At that point, she promised herself that she would get a Mustang for herself when she was an adult. Long story short, the dream finally came true decades later, in 2021, when she found this pristine 1967 coupe. She was very fussy, and wanted the best and most original example she could find. Even though the car was in very nice condition, it needed a little detailing and sorting out, so she had a pricy but high-quality shop perform a sympathetic restoration, taking care of a few leaks and meticulously detailing the car inside and out. Although she was around 70 years old at this point, she enjoyed the car for the past three years, driving it sparingly until illness prevented her from driving anymore. She was understandably very attached to the car and had us promise to her that we'd find it a good home. We have lots of interesting documentation contained in a briefcase she kept for the car, including a glow-in-the-dark badge from that 1964 World's Fair as well as a photograph of her from that time, with both items in a pouch that also dates back to that time. The gleaming Candy Apple Red paint on the original body panels is likewise original, with paint meter readings from a renown appraiser confirming that belief. The original power top features the optional two-piece glass rear window rather than the typically scratched and yellowed standard vinyl window. The bumpers and other chrome/stainless-steel trim all shine brilliantly while a set of the factory optional, chrome Styled Steel Wheels wearing modern BF Goodrich radial tires round out this Mustang's impressive curb appeal. Note that the original wheels and tires go with the car. Inside, the original black upholstery looks fantastic, as do the dash, door panels and carpet. Options here include the center console and AM radio. Under the hood is the original "C" code 289 2-barrel V8 which sends the power to the rear wheels via Ford's C4 automatic transmission. The 289 starts and runs great, and provides plenty of power for this pony while power steering and power front disc brakes makes it easy to wheel around this classic cruiser. A binder packed full of documentation that includes the original sales receipt, warranty service card, owner's manual and various service receipts also accompanies the car and shows the incredible care it has received from day one. An included appraisal from 2019 put this amazing Mustang convertible's value at $52,650.
