In the 1960s, British roadsters were incredibly popular. Light, nimble and with a close-coupled cockpit, these elemental two seat drop tops were not that powerful but still provided plenty of fun behind the wheel. If nothing else, these little sports cars proved the old expression that "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow." Being able to push a modestly-powered car hard on a twisty road is usually more enjoyable than exercising massive restraint while piloting a car with more power than you can ever use. Here we have a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine that is a solid, sharp-looking and good-running car that is ready to provide a lot of bang for the buck. The body is in good condition and wears deep red paint that’s nicely accented by the chrome bumpers and other bright trim that presents very well. A set of handsome, aftermarket 13-inch alloy wheels wearing Kumho performance tires complete the curb appeal. The interior is similarly good, driver-quality and both the seats and the door panels appear to have been reupholstered. The carpets and the top are in good shape. No A/C, power windows or even a radio reside in this old-school sports car; it’s all about the entertaining driving experience here. Under the hood, or should we say bonnet, is the original 1.7-liter inline four that was rated at 99 hp. Not exactly a pavement scorcher, but with the Alpine weighing under 2,200 pounds, it’s enough to move the car around with a bit of pep in its step. A 4-speed stick adds to the fun of buzzing around in this little go kart. Manual drum brakes and manual steering are typical of the sports cars of this era and add to the driver involvement and fun factor. New blk convertible top, rebuilt #'s matching 4 cyl., approx. 6k miles since completion. Extensive file of receipts and car maintenance. Comes with previous OH Title and RI registration.
