Please note that due to the non-original (but potent) powertrain of this car we can't say with 100 percent certainty that it is a genuine SS without original supporting documentation. Take a good look at this Chevelle and you'll notice that the body, trunk and underside are smooth, straight, clean and rock solid. The car was originally Olympic Gold (code 65) and was given a high-quality respray in Tuxedo Black during its comprehensive resto-modification. The various chrome and stainless-steel trim pieces are as brilliant as that lustrous black coat. A set of factory SS wheels wearing B.F. Goodrich Radial T/As rounds out the massive head-turning factor. Inside, from the headliner to the dash, upholstery and carpets all is in fine condition. Rather than the boring bench seat, this car features the optional buckets and console, the latter with the iconic Hurst shifter. It also has other options including full instrumentation, the sport steering wheel, a rear window defogger, an aftermarket audio system (that looks factory-issued) and an aftermarket A/C system (by Classic Auto Air) that likewise looks factory-installed. Custom "SS" floor mats add a nice finishing touch. Under the hood there now resides a stout, rebuilt (early 1970s) 454 big block. Sporting high-quality upgrades that include a performance cam, a Quick Fuel Technology carb, an Edelbrock Performer intake, a GM Performance electronic ignition and a set of headers running to Thrush mufflers, this powerhouse sounds awesome and has no problem pinning you back in the seat when you step into it. The slick-shifting four-speed (Muncie M22) stick adds a ton of fun to wheeling this handsome Chevelle around while power steering and power front disc brakes add to the car's easy-going driving character.
