Every once in a blue moon we get a car that is equal parts very rare and very desirable. Here we have such a car, a 1969 Chevy Impala that is loaded with pretty much every performance and luxury option you could get. Though it is not an SS, this Impala Custom coupe was ordered with a 427 V8 along with automatic A/C and virtually every option you could get, including a handful of options that are incredibly rare. Although this car can be driven as is, given its incredible specification we see it as more than deserving of a restoration. Originally a Granada Gold car, the Impala was painted Black many years ago. There is some rust/rot evident on the front fenders and rear quarters. However the frame, floors and trunk floor (apart from a small area on the left side) are in good condition, making for a fairly solid structure overall. This Impala has the ultra-rare concealed headlights option and sits on a set of 15-inch Rally wheels wearing Cooper Cobra Radial G/Ts. Inside, although it’s possible that the seats could have been recovered at some point, everything appears to be original, correct and in overall good condition. There is a small, barely noticeable crack on the dash pad and the driver’s door panel shows minor wear while the passenger’s does not. But the headliner, seats, console, instrument panel and carpet all look great. The list of options on this car is amazing, and includes those mentioned above along with automatic transmission, Positraction rear end, power steering, power front disc brakes, front/rear bumper guards, headlight washers, fiber optic light monitor, power windows/locks/seat/trunk release, tilt wheel, cruise control, speed minder, AM/FM/8-track stereo, electric rear window defroster and “liquid tire chain” (which sprays traction-enhancing liquid onto the rear tires for driving on slippery roads. The trunk is loaded with extra parts, including a steering wheel, a couple of wheel covers and a car cover. Another amazing option on this car is the 427 V8. Normally, that powerhouse is only seen on an Impala SS, though it was optional on the non-SS Impala as well. Note that this car’s original 427 was replaced at some point by a circa-1970 454. A TH400 automatic sends the power to the 12-bolt, Positraction rear end. For more information or to schedule time to see this incredible Impala, just give us a call at 603-627-5595.
