A simply incredible find here! This is a very well-kept and very low-mileage 1980 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL sedan from sunny and dry California. In other words, Mercedes' flagship “S Class” sedan powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine. These robust, overbuilt cars are known to last a very long time when properly maintained. As such, if you find one of these classic Benzs for sale it will probably have a ton of miles on it. Not the case here, as this pristine example has traveled only 36,478 miles since it left the showroom back in 1980. Relatively speaking, it's just broken in! The A/C system still retains its original R12 refrigerant and it’s very effective, putting out ice cold air on the hottest days. This high-end luxury sedan also has a power sunroof, lending even more enjoyment when cruising around. This being an S class, this 450 SEL offered the best that Mercedes had to offer in terms of build quality, safety, passenger room, performance and luxury. Being the V8 variant (an inline six as well as a turbodiesel were also offered), this stately sedan moves out smoothly and swiftly and cruises along effortlessly on the interstate. This is the type of car you'd take a cross-country trek in, with its combination of supreme comfort and composed high-speed cruising melting away the miles with ease.
