Well into its third generation, Pontiac's Firebird Trans Am saw refreshed styling for 1991 with a more aerodynamic nose, revised rocker panels, a new rear spoiler and new taillights. Otherwise, the Firebird's same sleek styling that debuted for 1982 was little changed and still had no problem turning heads on the boulevard. Here we have a gorgeous, formerly collector-owned example of a 1991 Trans Am that achieves the automotive trifecta of having very low mileage, being loaded with plenty of key performance/luxury features and being in outstanding condition. With less than 28,000 original miles, this Trans Am is rock solid top to bottom. The original Gunmetal paint gleams, and the arrow-straight body is nicely accented with the black mesh wheels that are part of the WS6 handling package this car was optioned with. Note that a Formula hood with its asymmetric hood scoop was fitted for added style. Inside is the same story, as it is in excellent condition from the headliner to the carpet. The cloth upholstery is in fine shape and comfortable as well. This Trans Am is loaded. Key features include A/C, power windows/locks/mirrors, tilt wheel, cruise control and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD audio system. Under the hood is the tuned-port-injected (TPI) 305 V8 matched to a smooth-shifting four-speed automatic. There's plenty of spirited power on tap and, with the custom exhaust system that ends in quad chrome tips, an awesome soundtrack as well. Even just a brief drive on a winding road reveals how athletic this car is. A Trans Am is already known as a sporty handler, and with that optional WS6 package it's even more so. Highlights of that package include firmer shocks/springs as well as thick front/rear stabilizer bars and fatter tires compared to a standard Trans Am. A clean Carfax report accompanies the car.
