Pickup trucks have been hot in the collector market for quite some time, and while those from the ‘40s to the ‘60s are popular, the “square body” trucks of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s are red hot now as well. The newer ones in that range offer the best of both worlds: the traditional boxy styling that just looks so right on a pickup truck along with much nicer interiors than their more utilitarian forebears. Here we have a 1998 Chevrolet C1500 in the rare, eye-catching “Stepside” body style. Having been a Florida truck for nearly its whole life, it’s pristine underneath as well as topside. Under the hood is a full 350 cubic inches (5.7-liters) of brawny “Vortec” V8 that routes the power to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic. Although there’s about 126k miles on the truck, the engine was rebuilt at around the 80k mark. An “Airaid” free-flow intake/air filter and a Flowmaster exhaust system with side-exit outlets allows the 350 to breathe easy and make a bit more power.
